Maybe.com is finally for sale

Well the time has come for me to sell the domain name I've had since 1997. I swore I'd never give it up. I was planning on a lifetime registration but as the years roll on so does the need for things like paying off debt and buying houses and getting married etc.

So after 11 years I'm giving it up. Now the question is what do I register for my NEXT domain name? I have to have somewhere for folks to email me! I need something memorable too. Suggestions?

By the way here's the info on how to buy my domain name, it's right on the main page http://www.maybe.com/. When I register my new name I'll probably start moving everything over there like my blog etc. If you're interested in this awesome domain name be sure to contact my broker. His info is right on the homepage.

Catching up, Posting on Forums & Playing Games

I'm not sure what my mental block is with posting on my blog. It's pretty much dead these days. I find that the more I'm busy out with people the less I'm on my computer typing up stuff. Mainly I'm just hanging out with my boyfriend, playing Cooking Mama 2 and screwing around on Facebook constantly. Man that site's addictive.

I was also trying to post for advice on forums about webstuff and being insulted and accused of being a Nigerian Scammer (by someone named HERSHON2000 - Yes if you're reading this I mean YOU buddy!). That's just rude. What's wrong with people? Some people need to get off the computer and learn how to interact with real human beings. Hrmph.

Anyways, my New Year's resolution this year is to clean this place up. At least do quick blog updates so people don't think I'm dead. There's lots I could do here! I'm just losing touch with my readers. I can't believe how fast the year has gone by.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Californians for Humane Farming

A friend send me an email asking for help spreading the word on this issue. I figured adding it to my blog would at least help somewhat. Some of the following meeting places may not be in your area but you can find out more info via the website if this is an issue that interests you. There's an FAQ explaining what this is about in more detail on the site. I did a very quick Google search for any opposition sites on this issue and didn't find much. If you have an opposing viewpoint or links to clear/concise websites opposing it please post your thoughts and info in the comments section.

Here's the following email I got from my friend Lulu, keep in mind that there are no online petitions for this issue. You'll need to print out the pdf and carefully read the instructions on how to collect signatures.

-------------------
From Lulu:

They need petitions signed to get this on the ballot- you can sign up by e-mail to get petition forms and have friends, family, coworkers, etc. sign them.

Join the Californians for Humane Farms Campaign!

Join the campaign to protect California's farm animals!

Your help is needed to put a measure on the 2008 ballot that would outlaw the cruel confinement of veal calves, egg-laying hens, and breeding pigs. This important measure will phase out the use of the gestation crate for pigs, the battery cage for egg-laying hens and prevent the use of the veal crate for male calves.

We have only five short months to qualify this initiative for the November 2008 ballot. If thousands of volunteers join the effort to collect 650,000 signatures, we can secure a place for this precedent-setting measure on the ballot!

Please attend a special campaign event near you starting on November 5. Joining me will be our special guests Mike Markarian, The HSUS's Executive Vice President, and Gene Baur, Founder of Farm Sanctuary. We'll share how you can become a crucial member of the team of volunteers that will put this precedent-setting measure on the ballot.

How to Eat Sushi

My friend sent me a clip on how to give a proper man hug which he felt was pretty dead on. I watched it but considering I don't need to give man hugs I didn't get as much out of it as some of the other clips on the site. In particular the 'How to eat Sushi' clip attracted my attention. Back when I was in college my Taiwanese friend (with Japanese relatives) taught me how to eat sushi properly. In particular how to eat 'Nigiri'. Since then I haven't seen more than maybe one person eat nigiri in the same way making me wonder if I was indeed eating it correctly or not. Since I pick up the Nigiri with my fingers and eat it versus picking it up with my chopsticks this could be perceived as incorrect. Not so though!

Per the following clip this is indeed the way to eat it. Also I liked the tip on dipping the fish side of it into the soysauce as opposed to the rice side, which makes total sense but once again most people pick it up with their chopsticks and dip the bottom into the soysauce. Another nice tip is what side of the chopsticks to use to pick up fish from the communal plate (other end from which you eat) and where to place your chopsticks when you're not using them (do not lean them on your plate).

Watch and learn!

My Birthday Bash - 6/2/07

Finally new photos and a new post!

My Birthday bash this year was at Cha Cha Cha for the dinner portion then we headed on over to the Argus to see Colin and co. spin. Bizhan took a lot of these photos and Mark added his set as well. I think they're pretty awesome pics!

Enjoy!

I'm a semi-closeted Incubus fan

Brandon Boyd has an AMAZING voice (and he's hot). If you're not an incubus fan watch these vids and bask in the soaring vocal awesomeness.

Acoustic goodness.

I'm not a fan of this video per se. It was the I Dig Incubus contest winner. The song flippin' rules though. I have this album, it's super good.
